the ‘el patio’ farm museum - tiagua
The museum in Tiagua is composed of a group of renovated farm buildings, working mills and farm animals. This began in 1980 with the restoration of one room and developed into the complete restoration of the other buildings and into the ideas for this museum.
Within its walls, we are given an education in Lanzarote’s agricultural history. The collection of traditional style ceramics, along with the displays of agricultural implements and the historical buildings themselves, bear witness to the life of a hard-working people. The extensive photographic exhibition portrays Lanzarote’s past and present rural culture in a poetic and sympathetic atmosphere.
