montañas del
fuego - fire mountains, timanfaya national park
“Timanfaya, where forms,
colours and textures are almost never-ending.” CM
The Timanfaya National Park is uniquely
beautiful and inspiring covering 51 square km area
of over 30 volcanic cones and lava fields. Here César
Manrique designed “El Diablo” restaurant
where a panoramic view spans the park, and a huge grill
over a volcanic chasm uses the natural heat to barbeque
food. Displays of geothermal activity can be witnessed
from the ‘Islote de Hilario’ where the
bus journey of the ‘Ruta de los Volcanes’,
winding through 14km of volcanic landscape, begins.
Open daily: 09.00 – 17.45
