lanzarote
Lanzarote is well known for its fine, white-sand
beaches, unpolluted waters, agreeable sunny climate
and visually powerful landscape…but the island also
has a wealth of cultural opportunities. These are to
be found in historical buildings, art galleries, theatres,
music festivals, local fiestas and numerous museums dedicated
to cataloguing the islands rich history. With the combination
of its natural charms and the legacy of the many beautiful
tourist areas developed by César Manrique, Lanzarote
remains a very special island.
Nature has left Lanzarote with a unique
volcanic landscape and a mild climate with little
rainfall. The island enjoys an average of 22°c
throughout the year. As a result a distinctive style
of architecture and inventive farming techniques
have evolved here. The preservation of this natural
heritage whilst compatibly developing tourism, has
earned Lanzarote the World Biosphere Reserve status.
