In celebration of the islands patron saints, or those of individual villages, fiestas involve crafts, colourful traditional dress, food, concerts, music, dancing and fireworks.
There are numerous fiestas on the island through the year.

Carnival is celebrated at the beginning of Lent and begins with a parade on carnival eve in Arrecife. It’s usually a four day event, with concerts, all night dancing and the procession of floats along the seafront.
